  • Future Internet Assembly - - Registration still open
    The theme of this year's edition will be “Smart Cities and Internet of Things”. The programme features discussions on how the Future Internet can be used to make our cities smarter and become a basis for more innovation, how the architecture of the Internet of Things relates to the Future Internet. Successful business models for IoT applications will be highlighted. Workshops will focus on the impact of HTML5, interoperability of clouds, gaming and future networks. The event is part of the Future Internet Week. Registration is still open.

  • FI-WARE Open Call for additional project partners
    The FP7 project FI-WARE, part of the Future Internet Public Private Partnership, announces its first Open Call for new project partners. FI-WARE will deliver a new service infrastructure, building upon generic and reusable building blocks called “Generic Enablers”. FI-WARE develops open specifications and reference implementations of Generic Enablers. This open call asks for organizations that can contribute or develop the Generic Enablers related to middleware and business models. Total funding available for new partners is up to 2 Million Euro, and the call closes on 25 April 2012 at 17h00.   • FET Proactive Information Day on ICT FP7 Call 9
    During this event, information on Future and Emgerging Technologies (FET) Proactive initiatives under ICT FP7 call 9 will be provided, as well as contractual, legal and administrative modalities. In addition, the creation of consortia and synergies will be facilitated through an open exchange "Proposers Forum". Registration is free of charge but mandatory. Early registration is strongly recommended.

  • Public consultation on the accessibility of goods and services in the European market - deadline is 29 February
    The Commission is reflecting on the development of a European Accessibility Act containing measures to improve the accessibility of goods and services in the European market. This consultation is part of the preparatory data collection that will underpin the assessment of the impact of the measures. The consultation – itself fully accessible –is aimed at gathering views from businesses, people with disabilities and the general public and will remain open until 29 February 2012.
